Govy 500 IPA
Description
Reason for Name: The Govy 500 is a DAILY race up and down the mountain sponsored by ODOT. The race is revered as one of the slowest races in the PNW, some say it's the slowest in the nation. Each person in the race has a different experience or story on the road. You never know what you will see on the road and we're here to help showcase the conditions of the day. Enjoy a great time at the mountain and hit The Govy 500. Plan ahead and be prepared for all driving conditions.
Style Notes: Characterized by floral, fruity, citrus-like, piney or resinous American-variety hop character, the IPA beer style is all about hop flavor, aroma and bitterness. This has been the most-entered category at the Great American Beer Festival for more than a decade, and is the top-selling craft beer style in supermarkets and liquor stores across the U.S. West Coast IPAs are known for the huge hop aroma bursting with notes of citrus and tropical fruits. Their malt character is understated, and they finish dry to let the layered hop flavors and aromas take center stage.
Tasting Notes: With a super simple malt bill of just 2 Row Malt, this beer is a showcase for contemporary American hops. Leading the way is Mosaic in a that exhibits bright overripe mango, papaya, and tangerine flavors. To that we blend in some classic Citra grapefruit citrus zest then we add some Nelson Sauvin for a white wine goose berry character. Finally Nectaron to round it out with tropical and fruity notes.
